Another free 21-Meditation series is out! Woo Hoo!!! (...doing the dance of joy).
I soooo related to today's pre-meditation instruction by Deepak and Oprah on time management. The lack of time management in the first 30 years of my life had a crap-tastic effect on my adrenals, nervous system, and stress levels in the last 20 years of my life. I am just now finding relief and happiness with daily stress-relieving techniques and hydration therapy.
The sad thing is that "older me" wouldn't have to be repairing damage today if "younger me" had focused more on fulfillment, moments, and the journey. Why was I rushing from one place to another, my heart racing with fear of being late? Why did I live in constant fear of disappointing or angering family, friends, co-workers and clients? Why did I waste so much time running from my problems? I bet I'll get those questions answered during this meditation series.
The meditation inspired me to remember my favorite song, "The Secret O' Life," by James Taylor (why on earth haven't I added this to my repertoire???). James says, "The secret o' life is enjoying the passage of time." Good advice, James...goooood advice.
OK, that does it...I'm officially inspired!! Yeeeee Haw!! I am going to do my first-ever bloggy thing in conjunction with Deepak's free 21-Day Meditation series. I have some goals I want to achieve, and I want achieving them to be fun. I want to enjoy the PROCESS of achieving them. So, I'm going to make myself accountable by making an entry in the blog every day and logging and remembering this life experience.
Anyone who wants to come along on this journey is welcome. You can access the free meditation series at chopracentermeditation.com. Hurry, though...each meditation is only available free for 5 days. As always I will transcribe each meditation (I retain information better when I type it...my fingers can spell better than my brain...LOL) so let me know if you missed any words of wisdom and I will fill you in. Feel free to share your experiences and observations in the comment section of the blog. Wouldn't it be fun to enjoy the passage of time together? Yaaaaay!

P.S. This quote, derived from an old Romanian proverb, says, "A smart man learns from his own mistakes. A wise man learns from the mistakes of others. " I think I'd like to start being wise now. I will share some of my life mistakes to spare you the pain of learning. If you feel inspired to share any mistakes you've made please do...so I can learn from them, too.
Here are some quotes from today's meditation:
"Some people are so weighed down by the pressure to finish tasks, to meet goals, and check off the box that they are folding into themselves. Others wear their overwhelming schedule like a beleaguered badge of honor, and still more allow resentment to take hold until all those "To Do's" start to feel like "Have To's," and life quickly (as we know) spins out of control."
"Fulfillment is what time is all about because fulfillment is what life is about. Without inner fulfillment time isn't on your side. Instead of being about scheduling, being on time, meeting deadlines and getting everything you want to do for yourself and with your family and friends, time management is about how you feel inside. "
"When you manage time from the inside opportunities aren't missed. You are less frustrated and frantic."
"What's important isn't the hours and minutes on the clock but your experience. How you relate to the passage of time makes all the difference and ultimately it will define how well you live in the present moment, how you age, your sense of fulfillment, and the satisfaction of a life well spent."
